IDEA Studios & Services

IDEA STUDIOS IS AN AFFILIATE of the IDEA Center For the Arts and was established in 2013 to serve as a profit generating media arm for IDEA. We look to provide multi-media design services such as producing TV commercials and Sound Production services for nonprofit, and individual customers in the Tri-State area.  IDEA STUDIOS also serves as a Media Training Facility for "career readiness" and "job development" for Youth to learn 21st century workforce skills.

Mission

To provide high-quality Graphics, TV and Sound Production services to our clients in a timely and efficient manner. By providing high caliber professional services and communicating effectively with our customers, IDEA Studios will generate enough repeat customers to provide a stable client base and generate sufficient profits to meet the needs of the Studio, the financial goals of the organization and steady employment for the youth in Camden.

Goals and Objectives

IDEA Studio’s long-term goals are:

  • To provide high quality multi media services to our customers, so as to encourage repeat business and create a loyal customer base;
  • To grow at a steady and manageable rate;
  • To generate profits that can create job opportunities for under served youth in the Camden area. All profits go back into youth stipends,  the running of the studio and the nonprofit.

Careers in the Arts Training Program

Overview

IDEA Studios offers paid internships where participants continue to learn in a job environment, and are expected to produce results related to client needs.  Participants have schedules, job descriptions, and assignments to complete; all in the context of the overall scope of work negotiated with perspective clients.

While high paced and results driven, everyone still has fun in this collaborative and creative environment.  Participants are empowered to "dig deep" and are pushed to come up with stirring ideas to produce a product.  In the process, they are also learning valuable soft skills that are very transferrable in today's workforce.

Skills such as:

  • Communication (with employers, co-workers and clients) - Both written and verbal communication skills are of utmost importance in the workplace because they set the tone for how people perceive you. They also improve your chances of building relationships with co-workers. Communication skills boost your performance because they help you to extract clear expectations from your manager so that you can deliver excellent work.
  • Teamwork - A company’s success is rarely dependent on one person doing something all by him/herself. Success is the result of many people working toward a common goal. When employees can synthesize their varied talents, everyone wins.
  • Adaptability and flexibility are related skills and are about embracing and rolling with change.  They are particularly important when working in fast-pace or constantly changing work environments.
  • Problem-solving - When something goes wrong, you can either complain or take action. Tip: It’s the latter that will get you noticed. Knowing how to think on your feet can make you indispensable to an employer.
  • Creativity - This is a broad type of soft skill that can help you develop innovative solutions to problems at work. Instructional designers, architects, and artists are examples of jobs where creativity is crucial to success.
  • Work Ethic - Work ethic is a soft skill that proves your belief in the importance of work and its ability to strengthen your character.
  • Interpersonal Skills are those that you use near-constantly as you interact and communicate with co-workers and management.
  • Time Management - This soft skill demonstrate your ability to work efficiently and productively by using your time wisely.
  • Conflict resolution - Being able to constructively work through disagreements with people is a sure indicator of maturity - as well as leadership potential. Someone like this helps to promote a healthy, collaborative workplace.
  • Leadership - Having confidence and a clear vision can help influence your co-workers and get them on board with your ideas now and in the future. Displaying such leadership skills helps you gain visibility within an organization, which can lead to more opportunities for promotions or salary bumps.
  • Attention to detail - Attention to detail allows you to be both thorough and accurate in your work, which is crucial when delivering a product to a customer.  You want everything to be just what they wanted.

These skills and more, are in high-demand as today's workforce becomes more and more competitive. Companies and organizations are looking for people that can contribute to their culture, promote their mission, and help to move their organization forward.  Therefore, IDEA Studios also serves as a "workforce developer" as we prepare youth to thrive in todays employment environment.
